D-Jewel Gallery Is Now Live Online
Six years ago, in the middle of the 2020 lockdown, I started selling jewellery through WhatsApp and Facebook Marketplace by the name D-Jewel.
Today, on 18 June 2026, D-Jewel Gallery officially launched its e-store at djewelgallery.com — and I wanted to write this myself, in my own voice, to tell you how we got here.
Why We Started
The idea was simple: you shouldn't need real gold to look and feel like you're wearing something real.
It started with destination weddings, but the truth is, that's just one occasion out of many.
I wanted to create handcrafted fashion jewellery that came as close as possible to fine jewellery — in look, in weight, in finish — whether it's for a wedding, a festive celebration, a day at the office, a party, or just an everyday piece you reach for without a second thought.
Getting the Craft Right
We worked with skilled karigars and tested every base metal we could get our hands on — zinc, copper, various alloys — before landing on brass. It held polish better, could be re-polished when needed, and gave us the closest match to both temple jewellery and contemporary stone-studded designs.
Paired with hand-selected stones and a rich 22KT gold polish, it gave us a demi-fine quality that stood apart from the costume jewellery flooding the market.
From WhatsApp to Two Stores
The response online in 2021 gave us the confidence to go offline. We opened our first store at City Centre One, Salt Lake, Kolkata in 2022, and a second at City Centre Two in 2024. Alongside retail, we built a strong custom-order practice — designing full bridal parties (bride, bridesmaids, mothers) tailored to outfits and colour palettes, plus manufacturing 92.5 silver jewellery for other retailers under their own labels.
Please note: On early July 2026, we have officially close down one store at City Centre Two as we are now focusing on online work.
Why Our Prices Work
We're both the manufacturer and the retailer, so there's no middleman markup. A piece that might sell for ₹20,000 elsewhere is often ₹5,000 with us — same design integrity, same finish.
That's a big reason 70% of our customers come back. We also keep limited-edition pieces that, once sold or custom-made, are never repeated.
